History

The Alliance was created in 1994 by the State Legislature to provide increased access to health insurance for small businesses, self-employed and qualified individuals. We are an alliance of independent health insurers who have agreed to offer similar health plans to companies with 50 or less eligible employees. We provide a solution to those who are unable to qualify for commercial health insurance by offering easier requirements for small employers and individuals.

Our vision is to improve New Mexicans’ quality of life by providing access to a wide choice of quality health insurance products. With 10 health insurance carriers to choose from, we can provide a great solution that caters to your specific needs.
